Aims and activities

 

>Recording extensive interviews with practitioners active in British alternative theatre, 1968 – 1988

>Depositing complete interviews (video and/or audio) with major archives and collections, in particular the British Library National Sound Archives, V&A Theatre Collections and Sheffield University

>Identifying and mapping where archive material exists

>Assisting in placing personal archives appropriately, ensuring the material is preserved

>Creating a web site where originators of theatre from this period can document their practice alongside contributions from researchers and those with a passion for the work

>Setting up workshops, talks and exhibitions to promote awareness and knowledge of the creative practices and motivations of the alternative theatre movement

>Linking with current alternative theatre research projects in Britain to create a resource where information can be collected and exchanged across the sector
